A child's regular attendance at school is vital and we encourage parents to support this. The Education Welfare Officer (EWO) visits termly to monitor our levels of attendance.
From September 2016 all absence requests will be taken to the governors and no absences will be authorised unless there are exceptional circumstances. These might include having to attend a funeral, unavoidable medical appointments, days of religious observance and external examinations, but not just because holidays are cheap or that family members can only take holiday during term time. All applications for term time absence will need to be brought into school at least 4 weeks before the date required with the exception of last minute emergencies or funerals. Term dates are available from the office and on the website to enable you to plan your holidays.
