Computing

Technology is an integral part of our children’s world and futures. It is vital our pupils are equipped with the skills to develop digital literacy and computational thinking in a safe and responsible manner. Pupils will explore computer science, digital systems, computers/hardware and coding within discrete lessons. All topics are taught concurrently with online safety and responsible use. Computing provides opportunity to develop creativity, logic, communication and problem-solving. It will also be used as a cross-curricular tool.

We support the delivery of our computing curriculum through hand-on programming of Micro:bits to demonstrate real world system.  We also offer a computing club which focusses on programming and debugging.

Our Golden Threads

In computing, we become citizens of the world by acquiring a wide range of transferable skills and develop the knowledge to succeed.

We support lifelong learning by preparing for a digital future in a globally connected world and be safe and discernible users of technology.

We prepare for later life by equipping pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world.
