Message from Mrs Bowden 10.07.2020

Dear Parents and Carers

This week has been another busy week. We have plans in place for September, which will be emailed to you on Tuesday, 14th, July 2020.  These are subject to change if further DfE guidance is received before September.

During the week beginning Monday 22nd May, the children in school and many of the children at home, took part in the Cornwall School Games 2020. Mrs Bunt led this event in the school setting with challenges in athletics, bowls and ball sports. Over 53 pupils took part and will receive certificates. Mrs Bunt would like to say a huge well done to everyone who took part. The school games are normally held at Poltair School with many other schools participating.

Olivia H received a 2020 Blue Peter Sport’s badge. She had to try a new sport in her back garden for 10 minutes five times. Olivia received her badge for skipping, well done on earning your new badge, a great way of getting active.

Next week will be the last week for ‘Home Learning’. Well done to all those children who have completed the activities. Oscar is our top Rock Legend – well done.

Take care and best wishes to you all.

Sam Bowden

What parents can do:

We have a long history-the school began in the 1870s and the new school was opened by HRH the Princess Royal in 2003.  We have excellent accommodation comprising classrooms, hall and reception area grouped around a spacious library.  Outside there are extensive grounds including garden areas, hard play, verandas, play equipment and sports facilities. Children attend from the village and a wide area beyond.  We also offer wraparound care including Breakfast and After School Clubs.

You and your child are very important to us.  Each child is provided with work to suit their age and ability, and proceeds at an appropriate pace.  Children are under the particular care of their class teacher who builds up a supportive relationship with them.  We endeavour to ensure all children have a happy and purposeful education at all times.  We aim to equip them with the necessary social and academic skills to enable them to achieve their full potential in today’s ever changing and technological society.

We are always happy to discuss any matters individually with parents.  A visit can always be arranged and you will be most welcome.

At St Neot School we promote British values:

  • democracy
  • the rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.
